Our classes are interactive. Our modern facility is equipped with the latest audio-visual tools. We use a "hands-on" approach, with activities such as: Computerized driving simulator, Interactive Remote Control Quizzes, DUI impairment goggles, guest speakers & demonstrators. - Class sessions composed of 30 hours
- Missed classes may be made up in a future session
- Class length is 3 hours. Classes are numbered #1 - #10. All 10 classes must be completed.
- Final exam given at completion of course. Student must earn grade of 80% (RMV required grade)
- Once a student has registered for a class session, he/she may call to schedule behind-the-wheel lessons
- Class enrollment is limited - Register early to ensure a spot in your desired session
- You do NOT need to have a learner's permit to attend the classroom portion of our program
- You must be 15 years, 9 months by the first day of class
- Deposit needed to register & hold a seat in classroom session
- Full program must be completed within 2 years of first date of enrollment
Salem classes are held at 10 Rear Jefferson Ave., Salem. 1 Block from police station, behind "Maria's Place Restaurant".
Hamilton classes are held at Hamilton Community House, Corner Bay Rd. & Asbury, Hamilton, MA Ipswich classes are held at Ipswich High/Middle School, Room B103, 134 High St., Ipswich, MA

Our behind-the-wheel lessons give students the opportunity to practice what we preach: Basic driving skills PLUS, how to handle emergency situations & accident prevention techniques: all in a safe environment. We bring our students out of their 'comfort zones' and challenge them to THINK. We do more than just "drive around". Highway driving is scheduled when teen has proven safety, awareness & ability. Every teen will have highway training.
We offer services for teen drivers, adult drivers, senior drivers, drivers with special needs.
ROAD LESSON DETAILS (please call to schedule dates & times - 978 745-0607) - State requirement = 12 behind the wheel lessons/6 observation hours
- Each lesson approximately 1-2 hours in length (1 hour behind wheel plus observation)
- Double sessions scheduled to accomodate quality highway instruction
Students will be picked up/ dropped off at a pre-determined location. We offer at home pick up for all students located in Salem, Marblehead, Swampscott, Hamilton,Wenham, Essex, Ipswich, parts of Beverly, parts of Peabody. You may request to be picked up at home/school/work/other. We cannot guarantee home service to students who live outside of our service area. This is to ensure quality service, instruction and attention to the student behind the wheel.

Full Driver Ed Certificate Program:FULL PROGRAM INFO Students under age 18, who are seeking to earn their Massachusetts driver's license, MUST earn a "Driver Education Certificate" issued by the RMV. To earn this certificate, a student must attend a full driver education course at a RMV licensed driving school. Completing the StreetSmart Drivers program will satisfy this requirement. Program must be completed within 2 years. Our full driver ed program includes: - 30 classroom hours
- 12 behind-the-wheel road lessons (1 hour each)
- 6 hours observing another student's lesson
- 2 hour Parent Class
- *(optional) CPR / First Aid training & certification (American Heart Association) additional add-on
- *(optional) Advanced Driver Training with IN CONTROL, additional add-on
