What happens if my evaluation is not positive?

Prior to your evaluation, as part of the registration process, you would have recieved a clearance form that  gives you the opportunity to give permission for us to share your evaluation results with those whom you choose.

Most often, these are family members and physicians.

We will send copies of evaluation ONLY to those people whom you have given permission.

On most occasions, a "negative" evaluation means that we have found areas of concern, and have made recommendations to improve skill (such as adaptive equipment or occupational therapy).

In this case, we work with you and your doctor, and would re-evaluate within a short period of time.

Negative reports are sent to your physician.  This allows the opportunity for open discussion between you and your doctor regarding the choice to continue driving or not.

In extreme cases, and when you have not granted permission to speak with your doctor, we hold the right to notify the RMV of our concerns.
